Training
Are you looking for a career with a future and prospects of promotion? Starting in September, we offer a three-year apprenticeship as a Product Finisher Textiles or a Production Mechanic.
Requirements:
For this career you should be interested in technical developments, have an understanding of mechanics and technology, have good motor skills and be quick on the uptake. Additional knowledge of physical and textile chemical finishing processes.
You must be able to apply dyes and coatings by means of plant and machinery and to do so on your own and as part of a group.
As a production mechanic, your services are required whenever production machinery requires professional setting.
Set up, monitor and rectify processes controlled by an IT system.
Education: Good school-leaving certificate
Duration: 3 years with the company and at college
Opportunities:
If you are the right person for the job you could be promoted to team or group leader or assistant to the production manager.
On completion of training and with suitable career experience, you can train to be an industrial foreman for the textile industry or a state-examined textiles technician.
Internship and Bachelor’s Thesis
An internship at Textildruckerei Mayer is intended to provide an initial impression of textile production. It is aimed especially at school students aiming to serve an apprenticeship as, say a Product Finisher Textiles. It can range in duration from a few days to several weeks.
Bachelor’s theses are intended to work on tasks in practice and theory and to arrive at conclusions for future activity and innovation. We constantly provide opportunities, jointly with the universities, to work on theses at Mayer Textiltechnik. In addition to working on the subject of your thesis, you will gain extensive insights into work at a textile manufacturing company.
We currently offer theses in the following areas:
- Hybrid textiles
- Functional textiles (heating, switching, conduction)
- ESD protection in practice
- Flame protection
- Mobility in the future
